Personally saying I also own a elite i20 asta crdi, it is 4, 5 months old and I have 4000km on the board. I must say it is a very good car in its segment that’s why is is named elite or we can say upmarket than rest of the lot. Lot here comes is polo, swift, micra, jazz, etios, figo etc, But these car are not even close to the eliteness of the i20. I20 was a great successor in the previous year but now with the new one it is more mind blowing.
The pros of the car are mainly-
1 It is very spacious as compared to other cars in the market
fuel economy is also good I get about 15-17 km/l in city
It is a proper family car with good amount of boot space for long journey, size is approximately 285 lites
build quality is also good, I must say is is not as good as its german rival polo but it is next to it, quality of material used in the cabin is premium and will last a long run
5.It is easy to drive in the city, light steering smooth clutch and light gear help allot . turning circle is also good which is near about 4.7 meters
6.As per indian road, ground clearance plays an important part for buying a car, I20 have it in plenty. It is 170 mm
There are few cons also-
Missing equipment which was here in old i20: Rear disc brakes, side & curtain airbags, sunroof, auto-wipers & DRLs
1.2L petrol is not as impressive as the diesel. Mediocre highway performance for a premium hatchback
2.Anyone over 5’11" will find rear headroom to be insufficient.
Dynamics & steering aren’t to an enthusiast’s tastes. Swift, Polo etc. are more fun to drive
On-road price difference between the petrol & diesel is~1.3 lakhs. That’s higher than the competition
At the end I would say that not every car is perfect, but elite i20 is best of the lot even the maruti suzuki premium baleno couldn’t withstand with it. I would definitely recommend you to buy this if ur budget is 5.65L-9L. And also to mention that in next coming months i20 automatic will also be launched, Thanks
