I had a chance to drive a 1.1 liter getz about 1000 km last week and found it a delightful little car.
The new look front grill and the beige interiors make the car look more European than korean.
Build quality, fit and finish, interiors are very well executed.
The suspension is a bit hard but it comes in handy when travelling through potholes carrying a full load. Less chance of scraping the bottom of the car.
Through the corners, the Getz is capable and safe. It has a tendency to push its
nose wide, but body roll is
well controlled.
Its stable under braking despite a soft pedal, and has a very smooth gearbox.
I was driving a 1.1 liter petrol. It was smooth and pleasant in town. However since its a small engine you have to really rev the engine upto 3500-4000 rpm between gear shifts to get good performance. I managed to maintain a steady 120 kmph most of the way. The chasis felt like it could handle even 150-160 kmph if it had a bigger engine.
The interior details are tidy and makes
Getz feel somewhat upmarket inside.
In the rear, it has decent legroom. Im 5 feet 10 and it was not bad in the back.Rear passengers get three
seatbelts. The seat back rest has two positions - reclined
for relaxed passengers or upright to maximise load space.
The boot is big, and
the split-fold rear seats create a large and flat luggage area. It will be useful to carry rice and coconuts from your village. Space is adequate in
the front, and the seating position comfortable, if somewhat high. Quality is
good and equipment levels high.
Lots of bins for maps, sunglasses and cup/bottle holders all around the car. You will realize how useful those storage spaces are while traveling long distances or if you have babies.
Cant comment of the fuel consumption because I dont care for that and didnt check. Performance and quality is all that matters to me.
Dont know about the dealers because it was a friends car.
Thats it then.
