I purchased GETZ GVS 1.1L on 7th May 08, and believe that its too early for me to write any feedback....
For last 4 months I was looking for my first car :-) And the maximum budget that I can strech was upto 5 Lakh. So had below options with me:
1) Maruti SWIFT - Rejected as my wife didnt liked it, says ’This car has a masculine looks !’. I Agree...
2) Mahindra Logan - For this I had to strech my budget little more, apart from that I didn’t like the looks of the car. Felt like driving a mini lorry.....
Then had option with U-VA and GETZ
3) U-VA - Lots of issue I noticed... like poor service in Bangalore, car was much more on the price, didn’t find any difference as compared to Getz
4) Getz -Got my Car !
I started driving with Maruti 800 (my dad’s car) and later on when I drove Gettz, I had a completely different experience. The best thing I like about getz is the driving comfort you get. I still remember when I had a test ride, I had a feeling that I have a full control of a car even though when it gives a expereice of driving a sedan. I am pretty tall guy 6’2" and same with my other family members - all are tall and heavy. So I had to look for a car which is spacious for at least 4, in this regards no other car in this range can beat getz. - inside is too spacious. Adding to inside space - BOOT space, its moreover same as compared to Swift and Logan. I even like 60-40 and double fold of the back seat, It gives lots of flexibility.
Now looking to the bad part of Getz and the reason why I overlooked those points. (a) Low Power - Knowing to the fact that Santro Xing engine is fitted to Getz and will affect the power. But it was not a big point for me to stop - since I am very conservative driver.... I accelerates gradually and puts break similarly, I never expected a car which shoots in air in couple of seconds.....! (b) Pick up probelm - Yeah ! this is onething which is a matter of concern, but with time when you get proper hand-on with getz then one can figure out how to tackle the problem with proper clutch gear and acceleration.
Even many of my friends own the same car and heard good feedback from them. At last like to mention regarding the dealer satisfaction.... I found them very helpful and supportive.
