I bought Getz GLS an year back; here is my experience...
Prior to this I had owned, Maruti 800, Zen, Santro, and Opel Corsa; but I rate this car the best among the ones which experienced in terms of space, and handling.
Before buying I took a test drive of Palio, Swift and Indica... Overall my requirement was to buy a hatchback to have good space inside, a better drivability and handling. One thing to tell you all here is I took the test drive of Getz after Swift and Palio, but when I sat in for the first time, I felt like diving a premium segment....that’s the bueaty of this car.
The space is the advantage of this car which is where it stands on top of all cars in it’s segment. I am 6.3 ft; I did not had any problem when I took a long drive for 500KMS. The handling in the traffic is cool ... (as I live in Bangalore)... gears are very smooth and noise levels are OK.
The initial tarque of this car makes it better to drive in the city roads, the visibility is also good. compare to Swift, it has more advantages in all aspects except the price (assuming that swift VXI is teh only compare to Getz GLS.
When ever I drive in bad roads, many times I hear some sounds like "DHAK" "GARRAK" below the car as it’s ground clearence is too low compare to Santro.
Milage is OK as it is giving me 10 Kms in Bangalore; highways it is giving me 12+ so no problems.
Looks wise, if you are an aerodynamic freek, then go for it... I do not like "Buggy" design of Swift...
Though I am a frequent car changer, I want to keep my Getz for a longer time and overall I am satisified with Getz . Thanks to Hyundai...
