Hi folks, keeping it simple, i purchased this grand i10 sportz version car during the anniversary offer in june 2016. most of the things i liked in this car, exterior, interior, comfort, space , . Well sad part is
1) Brake getting jammed during rains, sounds strange right, very unique and peculiar case, may be one in 100s, but its a fact, within a week of my purchase of my new car . i had to face this ordeal of brake hardening and unable to press it , had to constantly pump in like a cycle pump... , I was driving from ITPL to Ramamurthy nagar, it was raining and roads were wet, the brakes got jammed , was unable to press it, it stood still, i had to keep pumping in regularly to get back to normal, some how managed to reach home due to slow moving traffic. trust me i never faced this problem in my previous cars i have owned. i towed the vehicle to service center Trident. in Whitefield next day which is on the service road (ORR) (where i had purchased the car from). Not even a week, so imagine the plight i suffered when the brake got jammed, the service center initially ignored me saying it is unusual and i am bluffing as the car was normal during dry situation . no job card was prepared, after several pleading and request for close to 2 hours, finally they took the car in , they said will test in waters and try checking everything, and give it the next day. i dropped the car and next day i went and took it back, they said no issues, it never happened to them, they drove during rains (hardly it rained next day), so they would not have experienced. Post then i always fear to take my car during continuous rains as the fear is still there, you really dont want to be in a middle of traffic with brake failure during rains . So even now when i take the car out the first braking is very hard, everyday in the morning, it just stops on the spot.have never faced this situation in my previous cars or any other brand i have driven. braking is an issue, so not sure if i had received a faulty vehicle but then it is a matter of safety so cant ignore, i am now leaving with it, praying for rains to get over to confidently take my car out. i cant have a technician with me all the time to let them know when this barking issue occurs right. few mechanics told me that it has happened with santa fe too that they have to pump in during bumper to bumper traffic and i know it is bullshit...do you think santa fe customers are going to take this after spending huge amount. i have a strong feeling that these guys are trying to clear of old faulty stocks in the name of anniversary. so beware , rather go for i20 or some other brand....sounds like a story, believe me this is my first review in mouthshut , i generally dont have time to write this but this is to caution prospective buyers...i could have left it as it is thinking one of the case but issue is an issue that needs to be voiced out. so any further clarifications you can write back....
