I bought a Champagne gold colour i-10 Era 1.1ltr in Oct-08.
I needed a compact car which is easy to drive/park in congested city roads, plus the interiors should be spacious for 5 people, with powerful AC which is not required to be switched off even when overtaking or climbing a flyover with full load. This need is fulfilled by this car. Looks are very conventional plus the twin tone interiors also matches well with the colour of exterior. Tubeless tyres are seeming to be very useful as the pressure remains maintained for months.
Fuel average in City is satisfactory which is upto 17kmpl without AC and around 15.5kmpl with AC. Gear lever is very cleverly placed saving space and adding to looks. Pick-up, top speed, gear change are good. Rear book space is just OK.
The first irritant is Clutch pedal. It seems to be a design fault. When I press it completely down my shoe then fouls with the wall behind or adjacent pedal, making the engine stall when releasing the lever. Second irritatnt is the folding of rear seat, which is not convenient. It completely comes off. It should have been on some hinge. Third disadvantage is that there are no notches provided behind the rear seat for optional fitment of rear shelf tray. Also the headrest in the bucket seat should not be a integrated one, lest it obstructs the cross view. Car of this class ought to have 4 speed wiper instead of 3 speed.
Anyone who needs comfort in small size plus a great looks and performance at Rs4L can go for this car. 1.2 ltr will be still better.
