Hyundai delivered me a new i20 with a RAT.
Let me start by telling Hyundai ruined not only my first car experience but, also my birthday. Its had been the most pathetic, disgusting and emotionally harassing experience I have had after buying a Hyundai i20 on 16th Jan 2014
Hyundai delayed the delivery of my car, did not give me a complete delivery of the car(seat covers are missing) which they promised as an accessory which they will provide later on Sat Jan 18th along with the number plate and above all there was a RAT in the car at the time of delivery.
I booked an I 20 Magna(O) petrol from your dealership Blue Hyundai Rajajinagar showroom, Bangalore, India. The car was scheduled to be delivered on 16th Jan 2014 at around 06 30 pm. Which also happened to be my birthday and the car was my birthday gift.
On the day of the delivery once I reached the showroom I had to talk on top of my voice with the executives as my car was not even present at the showroom after a long wait the car finally arrived. They promised to put the accessories(seat covers) on 18th Jan Sat.
While giving the demo when he opened the boot and lifted the cover to show the spare tyre there was a RAT right in the middle of the tyre. Let me be very clear the RAT did not enter into the CAR while giving the DEMO it was already present inside the car. They told me to take the delivery as nothing would happened and there is nothing to worry and the RAT will fall off while driving.
I believed them because I dont know much about cars and this was my first car. On 18th Jan there was no follow up call from the sales executive inquiring about the RAT. I called up the sales executive and asked when he was sending the driver. Finally the driver arrived first we went to the showroom and then to the Blue Hyundai Rajajinagar service center.
Once the boot was opened and the spare tyre removed we found that the RAT was still present and lot of sponge had been chewed off. Even the tool kit bags that come along with the car had been chewed. I also learned from the Service executives at the Rajajinagar service station that the RAT could travel to any location inside the car and on close inspection it has also reached the engine. I left the car at the service station.
After this I wrote a mail to the top management of Blue Hyundai and they apologized for what had happened and gave me assurance saying they will personally look into the matter. On Sunday Jan 19th they called me to the service station and confirmed and assured me there was no RAT in the car. I took the car and on Monday Jan 20 I was still getting some nasty smell. I used put in some perfume to get rid of it.
This was the first car that I bought with my own hard earned money and instead of having a wonderful experience its become something that I just want to get rid off.
