I am looking for a new car in diesel version.My daily run is approx 90 kms.I currently own a santro which is around 8 years old now and I am pretty happy the way it has performed so far.
I am researching a lot of cars in diesel(figo/nissan/polo/swift)
Every car is having its pros and cons.For eg, Maruti has a good engine, good ac, good mileage but space and build is an issue.To add to it is the long wait which runs into 6 months for new diesel version. The new entrants do not have a wide distribution in after-sales service and hence from my current experience, I am looking at Maruti and Hyundai as possible front runners.
However, most i20 reviews that I read suggest ac problems, slow pickup, suspension issues in potholes and rattling specially in 2010 models of I20.The looks and space though are stunning.Hyundai is asking for around 817000 a on road prize for the Astra version.(Mumbai) plus no discounts.
Aslo, have these problems in I20 been resolved(as claimed by Hyundai) in the current new models(2011)?
I need your view to understand which car should be the right choice.(looks/space/mileage/power/ac/pickup/after-sales are the main parameters I am considering here)
