Excellent hatch as a lifestyle vehicle

I am owning an Asta - Blue 1.2 Petrol with SR. Its about 2 months old and have driven 3100kms - about 1000kms on highways. And have had great experience with the car. Great finish, loaded to the teeth in terms of equipment, excellent ergonomics, pleasant interiors...

Had evaluated all hatchbacks in the high-end range - this stood out by miles as an all-rounder. The safest car around - this was a prime consideration - as you only live once - while you may buy several cars in a lifetime. Having a 5star safety rating and equipped with 6 airbags - one could not ask for more.

Cabin space is maximized by one of the longest wheelbases - longer than some sedans. Great leg space in the rear as well. Almost 300 litres of boot space.

Rides decently on 14" alloys (185/65). On the highways managed a decent trot - 100 to 120km/h. No need to stretch more considering surprises on our highways. Very stable and balanced ride - and I compare this to the other Opel Corsa 1.6L which I have for the last 8 years - which has great stability in straight-line speeds.

Fuel efficiency that I got on the i20 was under 15km in highway and 11 in city (Bangalore). Could have been better - as I get the same with the other car which is 1.6liter engined.

Do not expect a great torque as the engine is only a 1.2 pulling a 1060kg car. However the gear ratios could be altered for greater pulling power on 2nd gear.

In built blue tooth lacking - though available in the i20s being exported from Chennai to Australia and Europe. Not sure why they have not incorporated this feature in India.

Overall a competent performer and a great all rounder
