I guess I must be the most qualifies guy here to write a review on Santro because I have owned one for five years. I purchased Santro Automatic (not available now) in August 2006 on Ganesh Chaturthi. I was advised not to buy the automatic model. because some told me it was for handicapped! Others told me average was low and maintenance was high.
Some told me manual was more manly and gave the feeling of control. Even the dealers person advised me not to go for automatic. Well, the only expense I have incurred on the vehicle for five years is 35000, because I get the vehicle serviced every six months and the bill come to 3500 per servicing. I have not spent a single paisa on any part until now. Sharayu Hyundai gives excellent service and have never done anything that I should complain about...no overcharging, great service, etc. The traffic has been getting worse and everyday I have thanked my stars for choosing automatic.
I get an average of 10-11 kms without AC and 9-10 with AC. But I dont have a single scratch on the car and a buyer is ready to pay me 2.5 lacs now. The vehicle has given our family some great times and we are so attached to it. Recently, the santro proved itself. We went to Kashid and travelled on to Harihareshwar and came back the same day. The road is scary with lots of ghats, sharp turns, winding curves, etc. I was apprehensive about being stuck in the jungles with my family if the gear failed or something. We came back after driving 250 kms in one stretch. The Santro took the ghats like a swan takes to water, easily gliding through the slopes, turns and rough roads without effort. After reaching home, we saluted the Santro. My kids gave the vehicle kisses all over for bringing us home safely and comfortable. I plan to buy a SUV, mostly Xylo automatic that will come out in July 2011, but we dont feel like parting with our Santro. So dont think and just go ahead and buy Santro....youll never regret it and thank yourself everyday for your decision.
