Santro but not ''National Insurance''

Hi ,

I bought a santro XL in March 2006 ( after budget) with following additions for 4 Lacs(all inclusive)

  • Body colored bumper+ Mirror+ door handles

  • Front power windows

  • MP3 Player ( Blaupunkt )

  • Remote central locking

  • Fog lamps

  • Rear parcel tray

  • Floor mats + Mud flap

  • seat cover

From Advaith Bangalore ( Salesperson Mr.Guruprasad - 98451 47678)

I have driven 3000 Kms till now , also drove at speeds of 130-140 Km/hr on Bangalore - Mysore high way perfectly stable , nothing happened like what I had read in some reviews that it is unstable .

I can say am very happy with the vehicle. The AC is fantastic, before this I had a Maruti DX ( factory fitted AC which sucks). It is giving me close to 13 KMPL in City conditions with AC always on ( summer time now u see ) ,

except for a few minor hitches I feel fairly comfortable.

Pros : lot of them have written - so I wont get into once again.

Some cons :

there is a rattling noise ( due to rear parcel tray , set right during first service , but has come back to haunt me )

If the AC is not switched on ( only blower is on ) there is foul smell, according to the service guy ’’ yes , that is there , it will be there, do you have any the other problems’’

The biggest con - is the ’’National Insurance Company’’ who seems to have to cut some deal with the ’’Advaith guys’’ , being ’’sarkari’’ they are hardly customer oriented.

I had small crash on my bumper , the surveyor comes after almost 2 days of reporting. He is private guy ( Rs 250 / survey) hardly bothered about customer service says the company will pay only 400 and rest 8000 bucks I shell from own pocket, ask him the reason, he is not convincing, then the insurance guy who has his office inside the Advaith Workshop , doesn’t bother to attend to telephone calls,

so I have make 2 visits to the workshop.

Even the ’’Advaith Guys’’ feign helplessness, ( as they already made their bucks on the Car + some ’’chillar’’ on the insurance deal also.

I talk to Private insurance ( very reputed ) who explains to me well and also tells me that may for the small damage it may be possible to repair the bumper at the workshop without replacing , and may be very minimal amount get it painted outside ( within 400 bucks )

Now tell me if the insurance guys dont want to pay our costs what is the insurance for ? In the first no one is talking to me itself.!!!,

Also why is this suggestion not coming from ’’National Insurance/ Advaith’’

My suggestion to you all , go for some private insurance guys whom you know ( where everybody including the surveyor is an employee of the Insurance co. , not a free lancer ) and dont go blindly for the Dealer appointed [ adjusted :-) ] insurance cos.

FYI, the cost of insurance everywhere is the same
