I purchased this car in July 2007 for my dearest mom. She has sick of driving cars with gears in this heavy city traffic. Santro Xing AT – the Automatic transmission is certainly a boon. The car is hugely functional, comfortable, phenomenally easy to use in the city. Really great for city driving, the light controls, tight turning circle and good visibility make it easy to fight for those important inches in city traffic. For my mother Santro AT is a Wonder Car. Very uncomfortable at the back though.
Anyone in the backseat will feel like riding a pogostick. The tall boy design and stance makes it highly vulnerable to crosswinds, especially on the highway, and it simply doesn’t have the right composure. Mileage is not praiseworthy. Around 10 kmpl in the city and around 12 kmpl on the highway. In any case at this moment of time there are no other automatic compact cars to really choose from?? So my fantastic mom is happy. What more should I ask for?? Who cares what price I pay and how much kmpl this car gives. There is no substitute to her happiness. Hyundai India is going to stop manufacturing this variant hence call the shots today! This car is highly recommended!
