Recently in MAY 2006, I brought Santro xing Erlx , XK (NON-AC). travelled 2000 KMS ALREADY, Because I don’t want the features like power steering , AC etc., . I am very happy to tell , all of you , that It is nice looking chunky car, with features like headlamp leveling device, heater, anti-submarine seats etc., The head lights are very powerfull , I have installed Xenon +50% of Philips , excellent lighting. The engine is very smooth, good pickup, The cabin sound is also negligible. I am getting 16 Km in city and 21-22 KM’s on highway with this model. The steering and turning radius is also good compare to maruti alto. Now I am enjoying this Dream car ride , guys like any thing. The gear shifting is very easy , highly responsive engine with latest erlx technology, good plastics in the cabin, good control swithches and very good spacious interior and we can good look around . The driver appeal is very good compare to Maruti alto or 800. This is a very good car for first time buyers and Santro xing erlx offers very good value for money.
TO SUM UP:
VERY SMOOTH GEAR SHIFTING, little vibration is felt when I kept my hands on stick.
excellent interiors, with rich look, spacious and good looking.
very bright head lamps, I have installed. philips xenon +50% bulbs
small turning radius, easy to ride in city , perfect steering wheel.
Best vehicle with less price tag in this segment.
GREAT MILEAGE , if driven properly and trouble free smooth engine.

Adding to my above review, I would like to tell you that , the black bumper of the car got painted with the same body colour for Rs. 4000/- at Kun-united Kurnool, Now it is resembling XO Model of Santro xing, Lot of money I have saved by doing this . I am continuing good mileage and it is going , going , going....................... Nicely. Instead of wasting money of Rs.35, 000/- for A/C of Hyundai, I am trying to fit HITACHI, 1.1 TON A/C IN MY SANTRO XK MODEL FOR RS.18, 000/-, which outbeats even Santro’s original A/C. I have seen it’s A/C action in KIA’S panto in UK and in Malaysian Cars at KUALALUMPUR. After fitting and analysing the HITACHI A/C , I will come back to all of you shortly about this installation procedures and availability sources in India.
Regarding HEADLAMPS, for your information. santo xing’s ORIGINAL H4, BI-XENON BULBS(HIGH & lOW BEAMS) are available at https://XTRALIGHTS.COM, for $539.00 , They throw three times great light compare to best available Halogen bulbs and they consume only 35 watts
But please be careful while preserving the Electronic gears which comes with xenon bulbs from water , or earthing , because these bulbs run on high voltages like 23, 000 volts , Insulate the electronic gear properly so water or earthing happen and you enjoy the best lighting among the existing automobiles in the our country.Have a nice , safest and best night time driving.

UPDATING THE DATA: After 5months of my Santro Xing erlx, I would like to share some of my experiences.
1. CITY MILEAGE: 15-16KMS; HIGHWAY: 21 + Great Going.....Going.............
2. Till date No problems in engine or Handling. Even though Mine is not Power Steering Nochange in Steering Comfort , steering is very smooth and found very this ordinary steering very useful during HIGH SPEEDS over 65kms/Hr, Because Power Steering tend to be DANGEROUS in High speeds, Now a days Latest Cars are Being Facilitated with Automatic conversion of Manual Steering from Powersteering after cross Minimum speed limits. Now International automobile companys realising the importance of Manual steering during high speeds. Power steering in useful only during parking purposes.( It makes comfortable cuts in narrow lanes)
3. After long drive Neck pain is common with santro xing erlx, because of non-adjustable Head Rest. Install Good Neck rest Pillow to seat to solve the problem.
4. If you install PHILIPS VISION PLUS BULBS, it will give good comfortable lighting.There is no need of changing wiring harness.
- Clean the car once in 15 days or when ever required by using a Good Shampoo , use Telflon Paste to maintain car brilliance and to wipe of the water during cleaning use CHAMOIS LEATHER or SPECIAL SPONGE meant for Automobile Wiping in the Market, It reduces your strain in removing the water droplets on the body and also there is no nessicity in using Map Clothes avialbles in petrol bunks. I prefer the special automobile sponge, which practically in 5-10minutes you can wipe off water on entire car, that that it shines immediately . Try this you wil find it useful.
