I started my research with many cars in my mind, the Wagon R, Zen Vxi, Alto Lxi, Indica Lxi, Fiat Palio 1.2 nv sport, Hyundai Getz & Santro Xing. ( well I know it is unappropriate to compare indica & getz in this category as they have a bigger eng capacity but then while buying a car which you intend to keep for atleast 5 to 6 years you will always go in for a combination of best deal + value for money factor.). I test drove all the above mentioned vehicles. I was truely impressed with the performance of the Getz for its space inside as well as the driving feel of the car, the only detterent factor was its price and somewhat stingy fuel effeciency. then the next best in line was the Xing XS the pick up is peppy it has a decent fuel effeciancy & the space is comfortable enough for four huge adults, five normal people can sit in relative comfort, the ac is great & it doesnt hamper the pick up if used cleverly. I also got a good deal+discounts from Modi Hyundai, Thane the delivery of the vehicle was spot on time, kudos to the Modi team!! the car has so far run 600 Kms & has returned a decent avg of 12.5 kms with mix of Highway + city driving with & without A/c. I would surely recommend this car to anyone going in for this category. surly a great car.
