Relax ,rewind 'n reboot

’’i-Bar’’ is a haute cocktail longe situated in the newly opened multi-star Hotel’’The Park’’ .This place is more of an artistic studio concept bar , rather than a commercial pub .This is mainly aimed at catering the hotel guests ’n hence may not be frequented by the public as other places in the city.

This isnt a split level bar, as usually is the case. The dimension of this place is pretty compact. But one thing that catches everybody’s attention r the aesthetic seatings , which comes in all geometric shapes cuboid, spherical ’n r so comfy ’n low, that it forces u to stretch ur legs on the floor .The bean bags virtually makes u sleep , ’n this is exactly what the lounge intends u to experience, stretch ur legs ’n relax .The walls ’n the bar is adorned with glasses , which gives that zingy look to the entire ambience.Eventho’ beer is available, but the flavour of the toast here is definitely the Bacardi limons, martinis , vodka based cocktails ’n a mindboggling varitety of continental snacks. This lounge leads into an open air swimming pool which adds up to that chill out ambience. The pool is complete with a mini bar. This lounge is also attached to an italian restaurant ’’i-talia’’ ’n another one with a north indian buffet hall.

This place has some mindblowing accoustics ’n sparkling lighting effects complete with disco neon lights, scanners with psychedellic patterns , but all concentrated at one end of the lounge including the DJ console , which naturally attracts all the movers ’n shakers to one end of the room, segregating the couch potatoes to the other side . The DJ fort is handled by ex-Proof DJ , Anoop , who solehandedly was responsible for lifting the thick purple blues hanging over the city ’n introducing the new age music ’’TRANCE’’. Even tho’ this place isnt exactly suited for his kind of a music on any given day , as its more of a relaxing joint rather than a trance club, the promoters ’ve chosen arguably the best DJ in town.

If the story so far highlights the usual serene atmosphere of the place , there’s another messy story to it, if it happens to host one of those much publicised ( courtsey TOI, which seems to be more of daily partying guide the city) rave house/theme parties like the last weekend’s Bacardi Blast with DJ’s flown in from Ministry of Sound, London ’n other guest DJ’s from France, DJ Ivan. Jeez, this place can go totally bonkers, ’n out of control mainly due to the smaller dimensions of the place, so neck in early, as later on even just couple entries may seem to be a less harsher restriction(to make the matters worse half of the crowd will be invitees leaving only other half open for public), ’n the corridor of Park hotel is crowded with large number of gatecrashers.God knows why they ’ve to advertise in papers if they cant accomodate even quarter of the crowd that r sure to flock in there ’n also why did they design the whole place so compact? .Most of the time u can see equal number of ppl spilt outside by the pool ’n the floor inside. As for the crowd, it simply cant get better with prettiest of the prettiest butterflies in full splendour ’n full of celeb invitees. As the party reaches its climax , those who r sitting down can sure be of being trampled , so better get up ’n join the swiggling crowd(’n as it always happens u forget where u left ur drinks) , ’n in no time, u ’ll be dripping with sweat ’n choking with cigar smoke , which prompts u to rush to the pool for some cool breath. After 11:30(how sad!!) when its time to mute the speakers, dont expect the ppl to go back home, but now the action shifts to the pool side , where its time to relax a bit after the energy sapping time inside.

In all lots ’ve changed in just 3 months , with 3 new ’’pubs’’, which nowadays is refined to be called soemthing as a cocktail lounge, the opulent ’’Opium’’(check out my revu soon), boring stiff-upper Geoffreys ’n New ’’Black Cadillac’’, where I heard the hangover of yesteryears continues.
