Some people might think that HP/Compaq’s make the best laptop. Even though, no doubt they are good, companies like these do have their main area of excellence. For example, Dell’s are the best in desktops, HP/Compaq are overall of satisfactory performers, and on the other hand IBM, are brilliant in everything, especially laptops.
I have owned an IBM Thinkpad for the past 5 years, and the only reason I required the need to upgrade was because of demanding applications, otherwise no other reason. Even after upgrading to the R51, IBM has maintained their same level of trust. They are powerful performers, enormously sturdy, and amazingly dependable. A drop from the hand, mis-installing an application, doesn’t do anything to deter this giant.
Even though it might be a bit pricey, but these laptops easily last a lifetime, without any service !!! And I mean it, since I have used one for over 5 yrs and no complaints !!
