Thinkpad R50e with only 256 MB RAM has now become quite old. You now get all laptops with minimum 512 MB RAM, but it is still working as good as it was 2 yrs. back. Is was only 10 months back that I faced a problem with my LAN port which somehow stopped working, and I took it to IBM centre at kolkata, and they diagnose it and sent a report to my home, saying that the motherboard should be replaced and the amount will be arround Rs. 23000.00. For diagnose also they took Rs. 1600.00 . The amount was so much that I decided on using the PCMCIA slot for the lan, and it is working fine. Other than that I never faced any problem with it. It is a good product from IBM.
Now I want to upgrade it to 1 GB RAM, so can anyone help me with this [especially cost]. The specifications are -
