Strong, Sturdy, Superb

One look at the R52 and you realise that it is a strong and sturdy beast. This looks as strong as a african Buffalo!!!! (Dont ask me why I chose this particular species for comparision....probably because both are black :) ). The Laptop is wonderfully easy to use, as are any of the IBM products.

The Access IBM Recovery tool is a treat for a computer novice....it offers a very transparent recovery experience. The Screen is big, flat and all of 15.2 inches long....and offers a luxurious view of the proceedings. Only problem is that it comes packaged with Norton Antivirus....and I am not at all a fan of Norton.....i tolerated it for 15 days and switched over to my favourite AVG Free.

For users like me, who are bred on DELL Laptops, the function key in the Thinkpad is placed at a very inconvenient place. I end up using the FN+ALT+DEL whenever I try to lock the screen!!! Other than that small flaw, there is nothing to complain about the Thinkpad.

The DVD Burner (Yes!!!!i got the sales guy to put this in) works like a breeze. Connecting to the Internet using wireless is effortless....even a new user can do it in 2 minutes flat. All in all This is one thing that needs to be given a serious thought when buying a laptop. The specs of my baby are: INTEL CENTRINO MOBILE TECHNOLOGY 60 GB HDD, 512 MB RAM CD/DVD R/W 1024*768 SCREEN RES/ 15.2" MONITOR.
