By now u might have seen innumerable bad reviews about ICICI in mouth shut. You might ask me, then why are you writing one more.
Well ICICI is finding more novel ways to loot their customers and it seems there is a research team up there to find new ways.
I have an ICICI savings account for 1 year and from 1 st month onwards I wasn’t happy with their service with all those charges coming from all corners.( this bank is very close to my home- hence opened one for convenience)
However I decided to keep my balance above rs 10000, since I have already opened an account with them and use only on emergencies.
And I had an emergency 1 week back and had to withdraw some amount. I went to the bank 2 days later and deposited 7500 rs as cash over the counter. This 7500 should keep my balance at Rs 10050, so as to avoid any extra charges. The lady at the counter happily received my money, gave a seal on the receipt and finished the transaction. She was very quiet.
When I checked my balance today, Rs 962 were missing. Baffled, I went to the bank . The explanation was Rs 115 taken as money handling charge. YES, MONEY HANDLING CHARGE- Rs 115.00.( Rs 115 for taking my money by hand, put it on counting machine and then to the drawer).
What a way to steal, there was no such mention about the same when I deposited.
So with Rs 115 out of the account, the balance has come down to less than Rs 10000, which is followed by Rs 750 as fine, followed by service tax, VAT, blah blah blah.
So next time, You guys planning to deposit, make sure they don’t handle. And I am seriously thinking how to become a money handler.
