I have been banking with ICICI Bank for 1 year now. and I am also using Net Banking features of them. Banking facility, Net banking, ATM reach are one of the excellent features offered by ICICI Bank. I have found staff very much helpful to at times bugging for pestering me to get into some of their products, such as Debit Cards even when I have one. The facility that I interact the most at the bank is the ATM and Net Banking.
Here my observations about Net banking.
Certificates (Web Certificates) used by site are expired, so not much useful.
Web Site is very slow. At times logging in takes more then 5 minutes even when I use from a connection with 1 mbps link at office. And the problem is generally faced from anywhere I use. So I perceive that their server and the link that connects the server to the net are slow. Even accessing information takes time.
Customer Support staff who handles mails, do not respond immediately. Normal time taken for responses is one Week and that is too long. Web is supposed to speed up the operations and not make it slow.
The site is still not able to provide lot of facilities that you can get with the bank. It would be really nice if the site can provide weekly balances by email, an email alert if a transaction beyond a certain amount is executed and so on. And this mails should go to user’s mail id and not to mailbox in net banking
The reporting, [Bank Statement] on the net is generally cryptic. You have to have mind of Sherlock Holmes at times to decipher what some of the transactions mean. I am sure, that technology has advanced enough to make it user-friendly.
In spite of all the shortcomings that I have listed here. I have got used to net banking so much, that I wonder if we will need more branches at all.
