I was happy about ICICI and was recommending them for any banking needs, but their service has gone bad in past few years. I had several bad experiences with them.
They use worst of the courier services, namely Elbee, Express-IT - The consignments will not reach you
They didnt notify me when the minimum balance was rised from 10k to 15k for NRE accounts. They charged me 900 RS for non-maintenance of average balance( I was maintaining 10K - That was the information the bank gave me). What they claim is that they did send me emails on some dates in February and March; The funny thing is that I opened my account only in April.
Whenever I contacted their customer service officers, they have only one answer - Contact the Manager by login into your account, my bad luck, I lost my password, I requested for a new password, now I can see that the courier service isnt delivering the letter. Asked ICICI to send the passwords using DTDC / Professional. They hesitated and are still using Elbee, Express IT etc. I contacted nri@icicibank.com and they are worse than telephone support officers. They have a set of nicely written answers, regardless of the question they send those answer templates. I tried writing/replying to them 10 times and at last had to stop.
They literally harasses you. Better stay away from them. Very sad to see a once good bank going down, just because of the poor attitude.
I am forgetting the 900 RS. Will be closing the account soon. Will be using HDFC and Vijaya Bank instead.
