ICICI is one of the biggest cheaters. I took a motor insurance from them for my 2 wheelers. Guess what, when I went for renewal they are charging me for ’Liability for paid driver’ for a two wheeler without any option (interesting, they think I will employ a driver for my two wheeler).
Also, preminum charges are almost double from last time. (No I didn’t had any accident or claim). They will do anything to get you onboarded and then treat you like a junk. There is no point in talking to their customer care as they don’t know the answer and they even can’t give contact of the person who can clarify these. What they know is just help you in making payment of your premium.
My recommendation is keep a safe distance from ICICI else you might find yourself cheated again and again. Also, if you are existing holder of policy, better change it next time you renew. Update (7/5/2009): I tried to call ICICI customer care for resolution of issue once again for the last time and the guy disconnected my call without any resolution. Now, I am out of their trap.
I renewed my policy from United India. In the process I lost ’No Cliam Bonus’, but thats ok.Update (13/5/2009): I sent a detailed feedback about what happened as stated above to ICICI Lombard service quality team. They acknowledge it and assinged a request number to followup on the matter. I hope they will take it seriously and improve their service.
