I can not undertand one thing that how a person can invest money without referring anyone or even without having a transperency in the costs. See, the agent is the person who is there to sell you something, now it depends upon person to person that whether he believes in just "selling" or an "ethical selling" you can not blame the company in these matters.
Another most important thing is that the rules & regulations of the policy are clearly mentioned in the policy letter itself and even company gives you the 15 days free-look period to cancel the policy if you feel that you have been cheated, what else the company can do more than this to protect the customers interest. I am very much sure that you have not gone through the policy letter and just to hide your own mistake you are blaming the company. If the "Welcome Kit" is just a formality for the company then the company would have sent just a single paper, mentioning your policy number and the other misc details and not the detailed information of the policy that is also with a costly courier service like Blue Dart.
So first of all you take care of your hard-earned money and then expect that others should do the same thing.
