I opened my DEMAT and trading account with ICICI direct in the year of 2014 but I never activated my trading account at that time as I had no idea about stock trading at that time, they just opened it with saving account. Then I closed this saving account in 2015 and thought that DEMAT will also get close with it. Then I opened new saving account and applied for DEMAT also as this time I was interested in stock trading and had clear idea about this. 10 days after application submission I asked them about account activation and they told me that you already have a DEMAT account so new account can’t be opened. So I asked them to activate my old DEMAT account and linked that one to my new saving account. I mailed them, called them but nothing worked. they always kept on asking the information of previous account that I didn’t know. So finally I stopped asking them and moved to Zerodha for trading ad DEMAT and nowi got bill for my DEMAT account from ICICI that I have never used.
