We had applied for a Demat account with ICICI in Feb 2006 and still the account has not been processed. First, they should have filled the form correctly and asked the customer for all details. Secondly, they should call up and ask us for any missing information (why do they take your mobile number for? Feed it into the databases and then keep calling you for credit cards?)
How can they send the form for processing with missing information in it and wait merrily till the form returns from its processing unit in Mumbai with a "Rejected" stamp?
This has happened to us thrice... form returning because of incomplete information.
In May, we began asking then to return our documents as we did not want to continue with such an irresposible organisation. THey have promptly closed our application but refuse to return the documents. Its not a joke to have all documents of a person and have them for no reason. We have every right to claim them if they are not using it. They say that they are going to store it in bank records. But for what? What will they do with it? Ans in case we apply again, we need to submit all the documents again...
Needless to mention the rude manner in which the brand manager spoke to us. The customer relations cell in Mumbai always pays a deaf ear to such complaints. THey keep outsourcing research from prestigious research agencies seeking to understand consumer behaviour. Instead of spending so much money, they might as well read the reviews about their bank and act on it.
They should be condemned and strict rules brought on how they deal with consumers. When we take so much pain to submit things to the minutest detail, it is basic decency on their part to take care of our needs in the same manner.
