I have been an ICICI Direct customer since 2005 and my experience with them had been mediocre(probably more so bcoz I dont use it so frequently) till last month when I decided to apply for a DEMAT account for my wife. Its 42 days now and there is no progress on the account opening and I found their employees to be rude and incompetent. Insipite of all documents being submitted and verified by their executive.they have been offering some lame excuses and reasons for rejecting the application.
I raised the issue with their helpdesk through an email. What happened after that shocked me to the core. After 10 days of sending the mail I got an acknowledgement from theirEscalation Team in Mumbai saying the application had been accepted and the documents will be sent in 2 days time. The mail had an attachment which had the complete Mutual Fund Statement of another customer. It also contained details of his account number and his address and phone number.
I see this is a MAJOR THREAT to the confidentiality and security of our Data. I have already notified the 3rd party to take appropriate action but request you to pass the word around.
One final word.ICICI Direct does not care. Its better to switch over or stay away.
