Improper customer service

My sister had an account with the Idbi bank , she had opened a savings account inorder to save money for her wedding during 2016. She used her account till one year and withdrawed the amount she had. She had kept a balance of Rs 2000, after a few months she received a text message on her number informing that an amount of 300 is deducted from her account. She ignored it first which was the biggest mistake made by her and then again next month she received a message about another deduction, this time the amount was in minus which means her whole Rs 2000 was deducted and upon that she had got penalty charges too. She was shocked and immediately told me about it.


We rushed to the idbi branch and enquired about it and came to know about the concept of monthly average balance. Ofcourse we didnt knew that there was this sort of thing. But it was their duty to inform us regarding the balances to be kept while opening the account. The amount required to be maintained was Rs 3300.


I politely told the staff that they should had informed us beforehand rather than waiting for our balance to become null. I even accepted our fault of ignoring the message but the staff was so much impolite to us. She was like getting mad on us. So conclusion is

Loss of our own money while we think that bank is the safest place to keep in.


Lack of knowledge of the staffs. Finally to get rid of it we paid the penalty charges and closed the account.
