This is an Email I have just sent to Idea Cellular Mumbai. Lets see what response I get.
Will keep you readers updated. The Email is self explanatory. And it is absolutely true. Also it is not an isolated case, as my office colleague, Vishwas Mane had the same problem, even visited an Idea outlet and yet was unable to deactivate the service on his mobile no.9594908382. No one else in our office has any silly
idea chips or else I could give even more proof. Yes Portability is here, but why should I meekly shift to another provider?
Would nt that be giving in to IDEAs harrassment? The email : Subject : Mobile no. 8108717376. Activation of service without request, consent or approval and tacit refusal to deactivate, resulting in frustration , mental torture and harassment of subscriber.Dear Sir/ Maam, This is to bring to your notice that an unwanted and unknown VAS has been activated on my idea cellular no. 8108717376 named subscription to CH99 magazine. I have never activated this and I dont even know what it is. As a result Rs. 3 is being deducted from my account every trhree days.
The message that I get for deactivation asks me to call up 155223 and the option to deactivate this particular service in the IVR is not there at all. Upon sending an SMS HELP to 155223 I get a list of keywords which does not mention this particular service. I even used the keyword provided with the deduction sms and sent an SMS to 155223 stating DeactCH3 . In response I got the same list of deactivation keywords.
I called up your customer care a few days ago and he said it had been deactivated by him online. After a week or so it starts again. I go through the same process agasin and this time your customer care executive rudely cuts the call. It is indeed surprising that a company which promises good customer care is so uncaring towards its customers.
You are requested to kindly cancel the said service with immediate effect. I will try my best to get this issue to the knowledge of as many people as I can through word of mouth and various websites, blogsites etc. since I am utterly frustrated with your service.
My Airtel no. is 9892805396, and I am glad to say that I have never had any problem with Airtel over the past 4 years I have been using the number.
And for your kind information my name is Basant Pandey, the card is registered to my name, I have last recharged with 10/- paper recharge, I dont remember what documents I gave, my date of birth is 8th feb 1968, my address is 293/A, Dayasagar, Hanuman mandir compound, hanuman Lane, Bazar road, bandra west mumbai 400 050. You may find all this information not enough to deactivate the service I guess becuse you are intent on thrusting it down our throat and robbing subscribers.
The best idea is not to get an idea.
Getting Idea is a very very bad Idea.
