I am having an Idea connection which was bundled with LG KP110 Handset which was initially charged with Rs195 towards lifetime connection with Rs 5 initial talk time. (In Trivandrum, Kerala). I got an SMS today (04/10/2008) with Title " Dual Benefit offer"- Charge with RS302 and get Full talk time and Local and STD calls at Rs1-/min for 30 days. No validity.
Overjoyed , I went to the retailer and charged Rs302 and I am disappointed to say I got only Rs268.78 as the talk time instead of the promised Full talk time of Rs 302/-. My conversation with Customer care executive did not yield any result as he kept on repeating that only that is the talk time with one year validity.
I told him that one year validity is not applicable in my case and I have charged as per the SMS received at 13:29 Hrs on 4/10/2008. I told him finally that he can be happy that IDEA cheated me of the full talk time by partial recharge, I have written emails to Customer care (Which I have no hope) and to Nodal officer (Of which I have some hope).
Still my case was not favourably disposed and I am unable to even get Customer care executive online after that (Doubt whether they blocked my number). I am a long time BSNL subscriber and my initial experience with IDEA is not very pleasant, to say the least. See it is not the amount (Rs37 shortfall ) , but the feeling of being robbed something which is promised with lot of fanfare which leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.
Hope people who care about customers in IDEA wake up and set right the matters.
