Recently one of my colleagues, who moved to Delhi, bought an Idea connection on my recommendation. At the time of purchase, he was asked to submit some documents including his proof of residence which he failed to do and as a result the services were discontinued and this was the point where the whole experience turned out to be a NIGHTMARE
Now I am convinced that this action was perfectly justified on the company’s part. He did submit the document on Saturday to the franchise he bought the connection from. He was told that his connection would get active within few hours.
After wiating for like 4 days, we contacted the company again and was SHOCKED to know that company has not received the documents yet!!
We have now submited the document again and are still waiting for the number to get active.
Here we did found some serious flaws in the way company works. I am really not sure how they handle the process of collecting the documents from franchise and processing them. Maybe they have hired a thrid party who does the same for them or they do have a separate department for this. Whatever the case, this process is completely in-efficient.
I believe that company would agree that the documents which we provide should be considered as confidential as they include some sensitive information ( like driving licence copy, address proof etc) of an individual. How can they be so careless ??
It has been some 7 days now, and we are still waiting for the company guys to wake up!
I do agree that my friend was responsible for this mess but it did borught out in open how these companies deal with the information that the customer trusts the company with.
