Way of Living

*Reading it would want you to take a stock of your life!

It is a fictional account which reiterates the good-or-bad effects of various approaches that we follow in our lives. Two diferent schools of thought embark on their journey into the financial world; both learned their lessons. A story unfolded in a thrilling way which never fails to entice.

Life is a race for those who are raring to achieve something. Be it a student struggling to get good marks, or a businessman for profit, an employee for promotion and salary hike. Most of us are engaged in this constant battle which we are not sure would lead us to what. This novel is all about these wars, here focus is on the working class but it could be well applied to other aspects of a person’s life.

The story revolves around five main characters:

Sundeep:  **A young MBA from IIMs who is high on style and intellect.

Swami:  A young MBA from IIMs who is high on simplicity and ethics and intellect.

Natasha:  Sundeep’s love interest

Kalpana:  Swami’s love interest

Aditya:  The main character, who plays God in the novel.

Keeping the thrill intact, the novel progresses from showing the two main characters of Sundeep and Swami busy in their quest to win a life that they both had envisioned for themselves. In the way, is shown their love-lives and their friendships. A moment comes in the novel when we find Sundeep’s approach on life very impressive and he manages to be in a win-win situation also as compared to Swami. But what happens in the long-run is something which will give us a reason to introspect. How far do they go in their quest? Who acheives what and loses what?

To get answers to all these questions, read "If God was a Banker"

*Quote-Unquote

*When he looked at it, Sundeep felt that he had more regrets about his career as compared to Swami, who seem to be more at peace with himself.

Thank you Aditya. In my wildest dreams I would not have imagined that you would come to my rescue. I have never been a believer in God. Aditya, today I know, if God was a banker, he would look like you! - Sundeep to Aditya!

I play to win and not only for the spirit of the game. - Sundeep

Swami had shown that to be a leader you dont have to be flamboyant or sexy. You have to honestly apply ur mind.

The only drawback of the novel could be that there were too many characters; But to put forward a story like this it was imperitive.

This book about Sundeep’s and Swami’s battle of pursuit of hapiness is an eye-opener. Besides telling an entertaining story, Ravi S, tells us to introspect a bit, slow down a bit, and take a stock of ones lives till now and now on.

Is this not the need of the hour?
