Reproduction of my feed back to IFB.
To IFB,
Bought an IFB Eleena in 2005 and functioning fine till last week. We noticed drum is not moving in both direction and called Service Engineer. Engineer first enquired whether we have taken any extended warranty or not for which we didnt have any idea. Normally all companies are informing their customer before expiry of guarantee period for such offers which was not done by IFB.
Engineer told that repair on chargeable basis for which I have agreed.
After opening of machine engineer changed one electronic circuit board and started the machine but no improvement observed but motor was in running condition. After doing certain trial and error he informed that your motor is not functioning and needs to be replaced and you have to pay about Rs.5500/- for the same. I am not at all convinced and asked your Service Centre to depute some knowledgeable engineer for which they have agreed but to day is the sixth day no one has reported. On 21st Aug your engineer collected Rs.338/- as service charge and informed to keep the receipt properly as machine is not yet rectified.
The feed back from other customers in "mouthshut.com" is that if you fail to extend the guarantee with IFB this is the practice. They will inform you about damage of any parts which cost more than Rs.4000/- so that after spending that much amount you will immediately go for 2 years AMC by paying similar amount.
You will appreciate if I have to pay Rs5500 for motor and Rs.4000/- for two years AMC it is better to go for a new machine.
Please look in to this matter and depute some expert so that your customer is not penalised for nothing.
Regards,
Shivaji Sinha
