I was a strong opponent of washing machines until one day my wife declared that our life will be in peril minus a washing machine. That was long back in 2003. I had a long discussion with my colleagues on the issue and all of them one after the other depicted a sad story about the poor quality of of washing machines they have brought and now piled in the corner. I consulted one of my friends in Pune and he suggested an IFB washing machine. The price was a bit high considering the times -more than twenty thousand rupees. One of my friends commended that with this money he could hire a maid for life. But the initial experience was excellent. It washed all cloths excellently well-the only problem was the high cost of the recommended washing powders. whenever my friends complain of their washing machines I recommend them an IFB machine.
Lately, I have been thinking of changing my old Executive plus with some of the modern versions of the machine when a technician who inspected the machine pleaded that the machine be sold to him only in the event of purchasing a new one- because it is still in good working condition.
Then I decided not to replace the machine.
