IFB - after sales service pathetic

This was the most painful experience that I had with the after sales service of any product. I would say any public sector service dept like power or telephones is a million times better than the IFB after sales .


We bought a Senorita Plus machine thinking that IFB has been in the market for long time and is a proven machine. The dealer also told us that it would be safe buy.


The machine was delivered promptly by the dealer Giria’s. It took the IFB guys two days to come over and give the demo (I can live with that cause at times they may be busy attending other calls) . From here starts the list of problems


1) The timer of the machine fails to work and the service tech tells us that he will replace it the first thing the next day.


2) They fail to turn up for the next 3 days . I made innumerable number of calls to the service center . The receptionist kept telling me that they would send someone immediately. At the end of the third day the receptionist told me that our problem has been attended to and has been closed. On confronting her to give details of the person who attended to our prob she finally agreed that they had goofed up and would send someone the next day.


3) The technician comes the next day, rips open the machine, can’t figure out a thing. Worst he finds it tough to put the machine back in order and tells us that he would come the next day with someone experienced.


4) U guessed it right, no one came and the receptionist was rude again and told us that it is a policy at IFB that we cannot talk to any higher ups if we need to escalate the issue.


5) Finally I went over to the dealer who sold us the machine and explained this to him. To my surprise he apologized for the trouble I went through and I told me that he would speak to the IFB manager and get the machine replaced in a day. Sadly this also failed.


Thankfully the Giria’s store was very professional. He called up the next day to enquire and on finding that no one turned up, he offered us an immediate exchange with any washing machine in the store. I thank the Giria?s store for having walked the extra mile to keep their customers happy.


We bought a Samsung with the power drum. We have a samsung refrigerator. They after sales is really good. They follow up after the service asking U questions like was the service guy polite, on time, knowledgeable, etc.


MY advice don’t touch IFB even with a barge pole.
