Ok, this is not a review - you can easily guess that from the title. Actually, Im not from India and don’t live in India, but recently, while doing a research paper for one of my Business classes, I came across several short reviews regarding IIM-A as the best school for business in Asia.
Now, that’s a tall order to fill, so I thought I’d check the school’s website and search on the web and see just how good it is. Obviously, no one’s going to brag about themselves outright, so I didn’t get much info from IIM-A themselves. And then, on the search engine results page, I get a link that brings me to some website called MouthShut.com, and I quickly find out that out of the billion (what!?) or so people in India who have at least some more knowledge of IIM-A than I, only four people have said something about it. I wrote a response to a review, and since the review was written few years back (and I doubt the writer is still engaged in Mouthshut) I got no reply. To my flattened hopes, I didn’t get much response from the Admissions people either!
Now, my point in writing this article, was not to ramble about my trials and errors, but rather, to get some idea on IIM-A. First, (I dont expect many to know the answer to this, but I’ll try anyways), does anyone know the average GMAT scores and other academic marks that successful applicant achieve? The reason I’m asking this is so I can get an idea of what I should be aiming for/working towards.
Second, how difficult and how valuable is an IIM-A education, over other institutes?
Ok, I can’t think of any other questions...so I’ll sign off for now.
