He had taken Tamil music to global standards
He was born on 2nd June 1943 in a small village of Pannayapuram. That was located in Theni district, Tamilnadu. His real name is Raasaiya. His Father is Ramasamy and his mother is Cinnathaayi. He has two sons and one daughter.
During his childhood days, he was the best player of harmonium and guitar.
Earlier days he played music for the stage dramas along with his brother. He had composed more than 5000 songs and music for over 1000 movies.
He gets Pathmaboosan Award, Kalaimaamani Award, Latha Mangeshkar award, Kerala state Govt. Award, Doctorate, etc.,
He was awarded as first composer of symphony music in Asia after playing in London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
His dedication towards music provoked him to create new Karnatic Raga the name is Panjamugi
In south India everyone has his songs in their mobile phone or computers or laptop
He was first person to compose music using computer in Tamil cinema industry
One of his song from the movie "Muthal Mariyaathai" was selected as a best song in a China radio.
On his Facebook page he had got over 20 million likes in few days. This proves Ilayraja’s life time achievement.
Without Ilayaraja music In Tamil radio, or TV channels cannot be popular.
He has made many achievements it is never ending story
