Inchara -- the name alone doesnt sound mysterious. Its located in the outskirts of Bangalore -- the area only a little more than a village, though actually part of the residential JP Nagar locality. When you get inside, youre led through maze-like paths to a place where you can sit. In a cottage-kind of setting, with dim lights and even trees around, you almost feel like sitting in a forest, cut off from the city. There is also a foam-filled fountain in the middle. In some ways, this place reminds you of Eden Park (near Hindu office on Cunningham Road).
The music is a bit loud, making conversation difficult; but you get a fair amount of privacy. The lights could probably be a bit brighter.
Food includes Tandoori, Chinese and Continental cuisines. At a slightly upmarket price, the quality is good. It seemed like a good place to chat over drinks too.
Possibly the only irritant is the service. For example, we had to wait for 25 minutes to get the bill! The service does need to rise a few notches to attain some kind of star quality.
The restaurant wasnt going empty even on a weekday; itll possibly be crowded in the weekends. It might make sense to book in advance for important occasions, though I didnt have the fortune of someone answering my call! There is no separate parking space; youll have to park in and around the restaurant.
With a little more publicity and improved service, the restaurant could see a lot more people coming in regularly.
