Independence Day is another good example of American Ignorance and Arrogance. I really enjoyed the idea of Humans battling Aliens and the special effects that definitely deserved compliments, the only matter that gave this movie a negative touch was the liberation of Earth initiated by the goodie goodie Americans. To watch the President of the United States jump into a military jet and manage miraculous manuevers made me question american world-views. Aliens attack the world and the Americans fight the ’’worldwide’’ war of independence and of course its a coincidence that all this had to happen on the fourth of july. Unfortunately these scenes of american egocentrism ruined the basic idea of the movie. On the other hand I have to compliment Roland Emmerich on the use of special effects, outstanding and very imaginable and this would be the only reason for me to further recommend this movie.
