My aunt in NYC makes a habit of purchasing a copy of India Abroad every week (I think it comes out every Tuesday though I may be wrong).
They do have an edition in Canada also but I have never subscribed to it. But I do find the paper interesting in terms of the content delivered.
They have news from the Asian subcontinent as well as other parts of the world (mainly related to Indians). There is also a lot of news on how Indians in US are doing and any accomplishments etc.
The most helpful part of this newspaper is actually the classified. The classified is great to find jobs which you would not find in the NY Times or the NY Post. Reason being that these jobs are mostly at companies owned by Indians or South Asians (people from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka also are served by this paper). The classified is also useful in finding places for rent. I think a lot of moms also use the paper for going through the matrimonial column :-) (heard this in the local temple).
Overall I would say this paper does a good job of serving the interests of the Indian community in North America (mainly USA). They also have the news online and a regular subscriber can also access the news online.
They also used to have offers where a subscriber can send a free copy for evaluation to their friends. Good idea to increase visibility and circulation.
Cheers !!!
