Post independent India presented beautifully

India after Gandhi is a must read for all who want to explore the depths of the modern post-independence India. This book starts where our school textbooks left off, how did India fare after the death of Gandhi and inception of a democratic country.

This book is divided into parts, each one dealing with a different phase of history.

I am currently in the fifth part of the book which is the last one.

Ramachandra Guha has beautifully presented every niche of our nation’s history to us. Even if you aren’t a great fan of History, like me, you would love to read it and at no point, this book would leave or let you lose the interest, all thanks to the writer’s presentation of facts and figures.

This book narrates you the whole ups and downs that the nation has gone through under different governments and political parties, all the wins and loses the country faced, whether internal or external. To sum up this book is definitely a must-read for all.
