I usually buy basmati from a local vendor, however since I ran out of them 2 days back I chose to buy branded India Gate basmati rice.
The rice was long and it was packed nicely.
However, when I opened it and soaked into water, I felt a very strong smell of pesticides, I thought it would be usual, I washed it multiple times.
The smell went down slightly but it was still strong enough.
After cooking, the smell was still there and we had to throw it.
The rice actually looked good, long and in good shape after cooking but the Pesticide smell took over the basmati rice smell.
I would not recommend to use due to high amount of pesticides used.
