Trip to Chakrata

Try the route via Roorkee i.e. Delhi-Roorkee-Saharanpur-Vikasnagar-Kalsi-Chakrata.

One spoilsport is the road condition beyond Kalsi (in fact the last 40 odd kms is BADD). But then the place compensates for the effort...virgin..very little population, serene.

Himalayan Paradise is the right place to stay: Bittoo Chauhan, the owner-cum-manager is courteous and responsive (contact him on 9411106326 or 01360-272252/262728) in sharp contrast to Vikas Agarwal of Hotel Snow view. Do not expect an out-of-the world stay arrangement, but good enough and the ambience is worth an experience.

Tiger fall is a concealed waterfall and you don’t get to see it till you reach the spot. Away from the shor-gul, mungfali wallas...

The USP of the ’Himalayan Paradise’ is the plum-orchard that Bittoo owns and the month of May is when the plum trees are loaded with the fruit. You get to see apricot trees too.

The route to Deoban, about 13 kms from this place was closed. So Kanasar, which is 26 kms was a comfortable destination. The route to Kanasar is fairly picturesque.

So if you had your upbringing in the hills, don’t bother going there. If you are a person from the planes, you would enjoy it.
