Never ever use India speed

This is my experience with India speedpost. I was under the impression that the quality of their service is improved, especially hearing the news Amazon is thinking to use their service for shipping the e-commerce products. But my experience has proved at least for the next 10 years they are not going to improve.


I sent a parcel(A dress worth Rs 2.5K) from Coimbatore to Bangalore on 4th July. On 5th when I checked the status, it was dispatched to Vimanapura P.O(which is the nearest speed post office to the recipeint in Bangalore). When the item was not delivered till 8th, I called the Vimanapura Speed post office. After many attempts I could talk to the officer. He collected my phone number and told me to call back after 1 hour. The same thing happened for next 3 days. Finally they said they could not find it and they are trying to track the item. This same drama repeated next few more days. It was 6 days over and I told them I am going to raise a complaint. He became angry and told me to go and do whatever I want to. I raised a complaint through their online system. During these days I called the customer care many times and every time they will just collected the same details and told me that they will respond soon. Their online complaint system is for name sake and nobody will even look into it. Even after 10 days of raising the complaint also, there is no update on their system. The customer care people finally told me that they have couple of similar issues with the Vimanapura post office and asked me to talk to them again.


Finally I called them again. This time he told me he has already given explanation to superintendent  and told me not to call him again. I called the superintendent and he said they are doing the enquiry. After enquiry if they find that the item can not be tracked, they will give back the BOOKING AMOUNT Of Rs 100/-. I was shocked to hear that. I already spent more than Rs 200 as my phone charge itself for talking to them. I asked him if that is the compensation for the customer, any body in the post office can take valuable items and give the explanation that the item is lost. They need to give only booking amount as the compensation. He told me it is a govt organization and the govt procedure is like that.


Even after 14 day also, they have no update on this. Every day I reach 4-5 people over the phone and every one tell the same update that they are trying to track it. I really don’t know what to do now. I have mailed to all the higher officials, customer care, senior superintendent of Bangalore speed post, general speed post office and made at least 200 calls. Every one is telling the same thing and no one is responsible. Once the Vimanapura branch gave the explanation they are unable to track it, their responsibility is over.


I will never ever send any item through speed post in my life. If you compare their rates, it is not cheaper than the private courier service. I think if the items are delivered promptly, it is just because of the customers luck. nothing more.
