Breakfast at India Coffee House

One place I really like to go for breakfast is India Coffee House. They open shop sometime between 8 to 8.30 am in the morning.

What I like about the place is the feeling that you are walking into an Old India. The place looks really old and you will find people sipping coffee and reading the papers, a true coffee shop experience which most other coffee shops have missed. There’s no distracting music, and if you want to have a wonderful conversation early in the morning, this is an excellent place to do that.

Scrambled Egg Toast is something that is very unique. I haven’t seen something like that at any other place. It’s a half fried egg placed on top of bread toast. When you add pepper and salt, the food is simply so yum!

Masala Dosas are different from the regular Shanthi Sagar Masala Dosas. Instead of samara and chutney, you get two different kinds of chutneys which are very delicious.

The other things on the menu include finger chips and bread with cheese and jam.

And coffee of course.

This place is good value for money, and everything is pretty cheap. Good food at MG Road, Bangalore, couldn’t get cheaper than this.

The only thing to probably look out is for the waiters who are sometimes impatient. They would want you out of the restaurant as soon as you have finished your food because they want to serve as many customers as they can, obviously for the tips.

To make sure you have a wonderful time at the Coffee House, make sure you do not visit the toilet. I recommend you have your breakfast in the ground floor itself. This is because you need to pass by a very stinky toilet to get around to the first floor. And think of coming down that way after you’re done with food… not a very appetizing feeling.

May be it’s a good idea picking a seat where you can see the road. It’s simply beautiful just looking out of the window into the sidewalk and the trees across the road.

But overall, it’s a wonderful place to take a friend out for breakfast. Nothing better than just sipping coffee and having a wonderful conversation. Enjoy yourself.
