I have been watching cricket for a long time and every time we play a game irrespective of the team we play against, I get a feeling, a bad feeling that something will go wrong. And this feeling is so much so prominent these days with every game that the script now reads - something is supposed to go wrong.
No matter how formidable the Indian team looks on paper with the worlds best batsman and the blend of youth and experience, it looks so very fragile on the ground. Lackluster and lackadaisical efforts have earned them lots of fiascos along with the wrath from Indian fans and ex-players. There are two ways of losing - Losing gracefully and losing without giving even a good fight. And the Indian team seems to fall in the latter category for most of the time. So much so have the disappointment of the people that there have even been comments that better players are waiting for their turn to show their talents.
The Indian team that has been in existence since mid of 2002 is considered to be the best Indian Cricket team that India has ever produces but by the looks of things the are vulnerable to regular failures. What are the reasons? one might ask!!!. The first and foremost thing that comes to my mind as the reason behind Indian team debacles is the Lack of aggression. Now how many times have you seen Indian bowlers trying to pitch something short up to the chest or head just to intimidate the batsmen? How many people have tried to disturb the bowlers line and length by coming down the pitch? Hardly anyone; except one or two people.
Relaxed back and overconfident attitude that creeps in after victories against minnows and lesser sides often sees the India team at the receiving end against better sides. Lack of proper application has also resulted in personal failures to players. If at all they could learn from their prior mistakes and apply themselves better, we would not witness such performances.
Losing is one thing which they should not be afraid of, but losing like a tamed animal is something which people would not like to see.
But one who follows cricket like religion does get a chance to get the prasad from the deity.
