TheChance After winning the Natwest Trophy, Mini World cup(in Srilanka) the fanatic Indian Cricket lover like us expected that we can win the World Cuo 2003.But after the
NewZealand Tour a big question mark has appeared in this expectation.
There are so many causes (defeat against the kewis)
1)Indian Players were over confident about their ability.
2) The pitches are very wet in N.Z, the stadiums are open---hence the environment for the seem bowlers was ideal.When the Indian batsmen learnt how to bat in those sort of pitches --the game was all over.
3)Bond Fobia:--This bowler really was in very good form & Indian Batsmen were smashed like potato chips in his hands.
4)The forms of Sachin, Saurav, Dravid was very poor.All the batsmen except sehwag failed to create any impression.
Really this tour was a nightmare for Saurav Ganguly.
Returning home, we are now judging our chances in the world cup 2003.IN this very short time our team has to be improved
1)their fitness
2)Their fielding:-- The Indian team has to perform a himalayan task to improve their
fielding.The fieldings of the mediocre teams like Sri Lanka, England, Zimbabwe is better than India.
We have the chance to win the world cup if among Sachin, Saurav, Sehwag, Dravid, Kaif & Yubraj ---only 2 of them stay in the creese.We have expect great bowlings
from Zaheer, Nehra, Harbhajan & Srinath.
India has faced a great problem of 5th bowler against the kewis.THey have to think about it.For Sachin, Saurav, Yuvraj & Sehwag---they have more works to do with their ball.
Keeper Dravid is right choise.More Batsman/Bowler is required for the country if
there is a good Batsman/wicket keeper in the team.
I am hopeful.
