Indian Idol is one of the biggest platforms for today’s youth to showacase their talent as far as singing is concerned.. Its licensed from the live TV show in America Called American Idol... which is very popular in US.. (infact I think the winner act in movies too in hollywood) ..... In India too the show has become immensely popular... The kind of mileage the contestants get through hoarding alone would make the contestants superstars overnite... The hype.. the frenzy surrounding the contestants cant be matched anywhere else...
I am not sure if Indian Idol started the trend.. I remember even our national Doordarshan had a show like this a few years back called ’’Meri Awaz Suno’’.. wherein the winners got a chance to record for a movie or something.. but here its not just the winners but most of the contestants who reach atleast to the top 10 position.......... who get all accloades... all 10 would become winners in their own rights...
The show this time has become bigger.. jazzier and juicier this time.. as the contestants are much more confident.. much more desperate to please the public and much more eager to take home the coveted prize money of 1CRORE worth contract and recording rights... besides the public shows that they would get perform live in order to showcase their talent... various people from all over the world would recognize them...
The anchors for the show remain Aman Verma and Mini Mathur.... and judges too remain the same... Music Director - Annu Malik.. Choreographer - Farah Khan & Playback Singer - Sonu Nigam..... They made superstars of ppl like Abhijeet.. Amit Sana and others... No one can miss the advertisements for this show... atleast not in metros...
The reason why I am so excited about the show this time is because my brother is participating in Indian Idol II... He is Shree Kumar .. everybody could go through his profile at the link.. https://indianidol.sifymax.com/contestants/shree/ .. he has been a student of carnatic music since a very young age.. and has been participating in show like TVS Sa re Ga ma and others... has made his school proud by winning numerous Singing Challenges...
