This review is based on the popular show on Sony TV the ?Indian idol?. A lot has been written about the show, its judges, the voting through viewers etc. But quite less about the actual participants, from where the only Indian idol is going to be! Or (the first Indian idol is going to be). I say this because by judgingthe popularity of the show it wont be a surprise if the show goes in for an ?Indian idol 2? in making. Just like ?pop stars? by channel V.
This is one show I have been following regularly since its inception.
Not surprisingly because music has always been very close to my
Heart. Although the programme is set to end in just 4 weeks to come,
I want to throw light on four such participants who have impressed me
with their voice and also because they have come a long away from being just
Good singers to being performers! And also talk about a controversial
figure who always manages to sneak into the finals every week, at the
Expense of some good singers.
Amit Sana-:
A very average looking guy?having the best voice of the lot! A nervous
personality but confident while performing! A person having ?stage? voice,
By stage voice I mean has an individual voice and dosent try to sound
Like sumone else. But it has its own pros and cons if one dosent try to sound
like sum one. He had impressed me on the first day itself when he had sung
the difficult classical composition of the film ?hum dil de chuke sanam?.
Rahul Vaidya -:
A self confessed Sonu nigam?s fan. Has a very good voice and tries to sound
like his idol Sonu. He has a ?mike? voice that means his voice can suit to many people and so he may become a good playback singer. A good looking Guy and has the distinction of being the only one who has not come in the last 3 for elimination. I.e 3 people who have got the least number of votes. Appearsto be a little cocky and has been rebuked before by the judges.
Prajakta Shukre -:
Finally sum one real good looking! Has a very melodious voice and performance rating is excellent! Already has highly appreciated by the singers like Alka Yagnik Etc. She is a star material for sure, being just 17 years old she brings a certain quality in her singing by giving excellent facial expressions. One thing good about her is that again she has a ?mike? voice and can suit many actresses on screen.
Aditi Paul -:
Although being the eldest than the other 3, she has a kid inside her, which makes her adorable. She can be serious and can appear matured when needed and this shows in her singing. Although she has been eliminated from the finals, she remains my favorite because of her classical voice. She appears to have taken high Degree of classical training.
Ravinder ravi -:
Last but certainly not the least, as he has been highly voted for,
by the people! He has that raw voice which appeals to me. Just a painter by
Profession, it is amazing to find such talents around in our country and shows like Indian Idol and sa re ga ma pa does well to give them a chance. Who knows we can find a new Kishore Kumar or Lata mangeshkar in them! He lacks the knowledge on singing with the track and it shows because he loses the ?sur? time and again. Again highly admonished by the Judges for his singing, but people just vote for him! Judges should realize by now that it is a reaction to the things they say to him and therefore people just vote for him! He should be left alone and sum time soon he will be out!
Lastly I would be pleased if any one of Prajakta or Amit sana wins!
