I had sent a Speed Post on 7th Feb (had sent a DD worth Rs 15K). I enquired about the confirmation of receipt (this was from the firm receiving the DD). Till 18th they kept saying we did not get it. So I just searched online and checked what I can I do.
Then I landed on to "complaints" section https://indiapost.gov.in, of this website. Before this I checked whether my parcel was delivered - they have a site for this as well, but that reflects "No records" - i.e. something you get from govt operated things.
I searched and found ppl just complaining but I just lodged an online complaint just to soothe my heart by putting in exactly 2 mins. And lo !!! Withing 24 hours I got the complaint updated with the delivery date and also within 3 days, I got a hard-copy mail confirming that my parcel was delivered.
I called up the firm (addressee) and upon telling this they told they got the DD on 11th itself and...thankfully I did not curse the Indian Postal Service anymore.
I had enquired with a pvt delivery firm and they said it will take me Rs 200 as agains Rs25 charged by Indian Post Service.
So, I just wanted to appreciate this initiative by and effficiency by Indian Postal Dept. Have used it earlier as well - when the pvt ones had to do lot of catching up
