Indian Jones buzz is here again. I am sure the new movie will be Top-Class but before that I had to hunt for the first one – Raiders of the Lost Ark. Finally I could lay my hands on this movie from my favorite Director Steven Spilberg. I had heard a lot about this movie. Well I can say for sure now that it is worth the praise. Cairo scenes, photography, tint of comedy and history, action and of course Harrison Ford does make the first in the Indian Jones series a master piece.
In the first movie ‘Raiders of the lost Ark’ handsome daredevil archaeologist Indian Jones (young Harrison Ford) embarks on a thrilling quest to locate the mystical Ark of the Covenant. He has to achieve the impossible before Nazi Germans gets it. Interesting to see how the master story teller George Lucas (Star Wars fame) manages to juxtapose myths with historical facts.
You may actually believe that if Hitler had found the Ark, history would have changed. Sure, there is no historical justification about the quest shown in the movie but it is an interesting film. Indeed, it is a fact that this movie has inspired generations of Historians and Archeologist to hunt for the mythical and powerful Ark – a very center piece of Jewish and Christian religion. If History Channel is any success today, then may be this movie deserves some credit for that.
Over all a great movie hence a must watch for all generations. I am happy to rate it 4 on 5 stars.
PS : Wait for my review on the sequel – Temple of Doom. Coming soon
Cheers!
